The short answer is yes. The long answer is still yes, but there are a few paths that you can take to get there that will affect the effort and cost involved.

Do I have to upgrade because of any other reason than Microsoft wants more money? Well…probably not. But they have said that they will no longer offer security updates for Windows 10 after October 2025.

Security updates are VERY important. Many people around the world are trying to find ways to hack into computers—security researchers call these vulnerabilities “exploits”—and they find these vulnerabilities often. Microsoft regularly “patches” Windows by adding fixes for these vulnerabilities, to protect you from being hacked. The end of support for Windows 10 means those patches will stop coming, and new vulnerabilities will remain in your system.

You can see how keeping Windows patched up for security is important. But upgrading Windows can be a daunting task. Microsoft offers a tool to test if your computer can run Windows 11. If it isn’t ready, the tool will tell you what changes need to be made. These are hardware upgrades to the computer, and not for the faint of heart.

We can help with these upgrades. You can keep your “old” computer out of a landfill and save money too. And you will stay protected from “exploits”.
